Chelsea and Everton both boosted their Premier League top-four chances in midweek but the Blues look better equipped to sustain such a challenge.

Thomas Tuchel has really tightened things up since arriving at Stamford Bridge, picking up seven wins and three draws from his 10 games in charge.

None of those matches produced over 3.5 goals, so 6/5 for a home victory and under that total is our first Chelsea vs Everton prediction.

A Look At Chelsea’s Betting Odds

This new-look Chelsea have repeatedly shown they can tough it out in close encounters, securing 1-0 wins over Tottenham, Atletico Madrid and Thursday’s victims Liverpool.

Mason Mount’s excellent strike settled the issue at Anfield and the Blues were rarely troubled in defence, apart from a handball appeal against N’Golo Kante.

The big-spending London outfit were languishing down in ninth place when Tuchel took charge, but just five weeks later are fourth in the table.

Former Borussia Dortmund and PSG coach Tuchel has masterminded victories over celebrated managers Jurgen Klopp, Jose Mourinho and Diego Simeone since replacing Frank Lampard.

Getting the better of an equally big-name boss in Carlo Ancelotti would be another feather in his cap.

“It’s a pleasure to compete with this team and this group against other strong, strong managers and with their groups,” he said.

“To be in this competition is pure joy. It is everything that you look for as a coach.

“It is proven that Chelsea is an organisation and a club that has everything that you need to be successful as a coach and as a football team.

“So, now it is my job to bring out the very best of myself, together with the team. There is no other way to express myself than with team performances.”

Five of Tuchel’s triumphs have come via a one-goal margin and 5/2 for that tally to be increased here catches the eye from the Chelsea vs Everton odds.

Last Chelsea line-up: Mendy, Rudiger, Christensen, Chilwell, James, Azpilicueta, Jorginho, Kante, Mount, Ziyech, Werner.

A Look At Everton’s Betting Odds

Everton are only one point behind Chelsea in fifth and have a game in hand, so there is lots at stake at Stamford Bridge.

The Toffees have completed a hat-trick of victories, following up a 2-0 derby triumph by beating Southampton and West Brom 1-0.

Richarlison made it six goals in as many appearances when heading in Gylfi Sigurdsson’s cross after 65 minutes at The Hawthorns.

Defender Michael Keane believes Ancelotti’s influence can help them stay in the hunt for Champions League football next season.

He told evertontv: “We know it is going to be tough but we feel we have quality and we have the attitude and mentality within the team to do it.

“The manager has been there and done it all and he passes that belief onto his players.

“You can see that on nights like this; even when we don’t play well, we still believe we are going win, we can dig deep, get one chance, take it and hold on.

“That is some of the quality you need. We know it is going to be tough but there are 12 games left and there is no reason why we can’t believe.”

That was Everton’s ninth away win of the campaign and they have taken 29 points from a possible 39 on the road, compared to 17 from 39 at Goodison.

The Toffees have scored in 12 of 13 away games and will give Chelsea’s much-improved rearguard a big test.

However, we’re finishing off our Chelsea vs Everton betting tips by taking 15/2 for the hosts to oblige 2-1.

Last Everton line-up: Pickford, Holgate, Keane, Digne, Godfrey, Doucoure, Gomes, Richarlison, Calvert-Lewin, Iwobi, Bernard.
