Lazio to beat Sassuolo @ 57/100
Lazio’s unbeaten home record was finally ended as they went down 3-0 to AC Milan before a midweek defeat at Lecce further damaged their title ambitions and they are now seven points behind leaders Juventus. They will not want to concede defeat in the title race just yet, though, and a runners-up finish would still be a good season so we expect them to bounce back to winning ways on Saturday. Sassuolo have failed to keep a clean sheet since the season resumed and their six matches have produced an incredible 30 goals so an open game is expected. Lazio should have the firepower to come out on top and are our first selection in Saturday’s European football tips.
Juventus to beat Atalanta @ 21/20
Juventus saw their seven-match winning run ended in midweek as AC Milan scored three goals in six minutes in a stunning turnaround. Juve looked to be cruising at 2-0 but fell apart in the final half an hour as they slipped to a 4-2 defeat. It was a rare setback though for the leaders, who have bounced back with a win after each of their three previous league defeats this season. Atalanta have won their last nine matches but we fear how their defence will cope with the attacking quality that their opponents have. Juve won the reverse fixture 3-1 in November and are fancied to complete the double here.
Barcelona to win at Valladolid @ 9/25
Valladolid have only conceded three more goals than Barcelona in La Liga this season yet they are languishing in the bottom half of the table while Barca are battling with Real Madrid for the title. The home side lost 5-1 at the Nou Camp but their home games are usually close affairs. Barca know they cannot afford any more slip-ups in their pursuit of their bitter rivals and are fancied for a third straight win.
Atletico Madrid to beat Real Betis @ 12/25
Atletico have been in fine form since the season resumed but have Sevilla breathing down their necks in the race to finish third behind Real Madrid and Barcelona. Diego Simeone’s men remain unbeaten since the Madrid derby on February 1 and have won all three matches since coming out of lockdown. They were 2-1 winners at Betis in December and the visitors have only managed one away win all season, losing eight of their nine visits to teams currently in the top half.
Moreirense to win at Belenenses @ 9/5
We head to Portugal for the last of our European football tips where we’re surprised to see Moreirense priced up as underdogs as they travel to struggling Belenenses. The eighth-placed visitors have only suffered one defeat since the end of January and held Sporting to a goalless draw on Monday night so are in decent form. Belenenses are in danger of being dragged into the relegation places after picking up just one point from their last four games, including a 5-0 thrashing at Porto last weekend, so are easy to oppose as favourites on Saturday.
