Bayern Munich to win at Bayer Leverkusen @ 58/100
Julian Nagelsmann suffered his first defeat as Bayern boss when Eintracht Frankfurt claimed a shock 2-1 win at Allianz Arena before the international break, which allowed Leverkusen to go joint-top of the Bundesliga table with a 4-0 romp at Arminia. However, FC Hollywood always seem to rise to the challenge when their dominance of Germany’s top flight is under threat, so we’re expecting the star-studded visitors to make a statement at BayArena.
Barcelona to beat Valencia @ 1/2
Ronald Koeman retained his job during the international break and received a few boosts at home and abroad. Memphis Depay set a new record for Holland goals in a calendar year, Sergio Busquets was named Nations League MVP, Gavi really impressed for Spain in that tournament and Sergio Aguero and Philippe Coutinho scored in a practice match. Despite all of their issues, Barca have still picked up 10 points out of 12 at Camp Nou in La Liga and are tipped to prevail again here.
Napoli to beat Torino @ 43/100
Seven straight wins have raised hopes that Gli Azzurri can mount a serious bid for Serie A title glory. Luciano Spalletti is clearly prioritising domestic success over any Europa League aspirations and has so far reaped the rewards. Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen finished last season strongly and the club’s record signing has gone from strength to strength this term. Torino are only a mid-table outfit and this is a great chance for Napoli to extend their 100 per cent record.
Marseille to beat Lorient @ 8/15
Les Phoceens will have been glad for the international break and can hopefully return refreshed following a bit of a sticky patch in Ligue 1. Jorge Sampaoli’s side started out in France’s top division by picking up 13 points out of a possible 15, when the likes of Dimitri Payet, Cengiz Under and Ahmadou Bamba Dieng were on song. Lorient are a workmanlike outfit but do not score many goals on the road, so Marseille can take a positive approach to this contest.
Pacos Ferreira to beat Arouca @ 82/100
Pacenses were excellent on home turf when finishing fifth in Liga Portugal Bwin last season and will be looking to get back to that form now that their European exploits are over. Things looked to be improving during a four-match unbeaten run and they lost little in defeat when going down 2-1 at Porto after taking the lead. Arouca have only picked up one point from four road trips since securing promotion and are worth opposing again here in our European football tips.
