Bundesliga predictions: Saturday treble from Germany’s top tier

bwin’s Enhanced Accas

We’re continuing our regular Bundesliga predictions with a 15/2 Saturday treble from the final round of fixtures in Germany’s top division.

Bayern Munich have been crowned champions again and the European places are all sorted but a tense relegation battle is still to be resolved.

Cologne to beat Schalke @ 4/11

The Billy Goats need a win to have any chance of climbing out of the drop zone but the good news is they are hosting already-relegated Schalke. New head coach Friedhelm Funkel enjoyed some early success with victories over RB Leipzig and Augsburg last month while a goalless stalemate at Union Berlin a week ago was another decent effort. Schalke have suffered six straight defeats on the road, with 21 goals conceded in those matches, so this is an easy pick to kick off our Bundesliga predictions.

Werder Bremen to beat Borussia Monchengladbach @ 6/4

Emotions will be running high at Weserstadion after Werder this week pinned their hopes on club legend Thomas Schaaf getting them out of trouble. The 60-year-old represented the green and whites 361 times as a player and managed them from 1999 to 2013, winning the Bundesliga title in both capacities over a 40-year period. He has been brought out of retirement to coach them for one match after a run of nine league games without a win and we’re letting our hearts rule our heads by going for a dream outcome.

Stuttgart to beat Arminia Bielefeld @ 6/4

Arminia are one point above Werder and two ahead of Cologne after back-to-back draws with Hertha Berlin and Hoffenheim meant they have lost just once in seven outings. However, they face the hardest task this weekend as Stuttgart go into this contest looking to complete a hat-trick of victories to close the season. Austria striker Sasa Kalajdzic scored the decider both times in 2-1 triumphs over Augsburg and Borussia Monchengladbach and the Reds seem in no mood to just roll over here.
