Fulham have been cut to just 2/11 in bwin’s Premier League relegation odds after slipping six points from safety following the latest round of fixtures.

The Cottagers suffered a fourth straight defeat when edged out 1-0 by Wolves on home turf, conceding in the second minute of stoppage time.

Scott Parker commented: “It’s a tough one to take, but it’s not going to be a tough one to bounce back from.

“It’s a painful one and you obviously see that at the end of the game with the scenes of this team and how desperate this team are to be successful.

“I asked the team to show fight, to show desire, to leave everything on the pitch – and to a man, we did that. It’s a cruel side of football sometimes.

“We will continue, painful, hurt and disappointing, but as always you get your guard up and you come out swinging, and that’s what we’ll do.”

Fourth-from-bottom Newcastle are out to 7/2 to go down after coming from behind to claim a crucial 2-1 victory at Burnley.

Matej Vydra gave the Clarets a half-time lead, but Jacob Murphy and substitute Allan Saint-Maximin turned things around after the break.

Steve Bruce hailed the impact made by Saint-Maximin, as he continued a comeback from injury.

“That was his 18th appearance out of 31 and I’m not sure how many of those he has started,” said the manager.

“Too often this season, our big players haven’t been available. When you’re a club in the bottom half, you need your big players.

“It isn’t rocket science. You can see what a difference he makes to the team. He’s a very, very talented player who hasn’t been available for half of the season.”

Clarets lack cutting edge

That result saw the Magpies close to within a point of Burnley, who are quoted at 10/1 in bwin’s Premier League relegation odds.

The Clarets controlled possession and had 24 attempts at goal, but Sean Dyche was left to rue a lack of clinical finishing.

“It was a very dominant performance and it’s disappointing that you don’t get anything from the game, but that’s football,” Dyche said.

“You’ve got to turn the key moments in your favour, which we sort of nearly did but didn’t quite see it off.”

Brighton edged above Burnley on goal difference following a 0-0 draw with Everton at Amex Stadium and are 33/1 in this market.

Graham Potter stated: “I thought we had a good intent, I thought we were the team that was closest to winning.

“I thought we just lacked a little bit in the final third in terms of decision and execution.

“In the end, it’s a point for us, it’s an important point for us, a clean sheet, and we have to move forward and take that.”

Sheffield United are regarded as all but down after a 3-0 loss to Arsenal at Bramall Lane left them 18 points from safety.

West Brom still have eight points to make up on Newcastle despite following up a 5-2 win at Chelsea by beating Southampton 3-0 and they are 1/25 to fall.
