Kick-off: 1800, 23/07/2019

Stadium: Struncovy Sady Stadion

Viktoria Plzen acquitted themselves pretty well in last season’s Champions League group stage and could give Olympiakos a decent test in the Czech Republic.

However, their Greek opponents have a great record in European qualifiers, being unbeaten in their last 10 such fixtures, so it is tough to take them on.

We’re happy to sit on the fence here and go for a draw at 21/10 with our first Viktoria Plzen vs Olympiakos prediction.

A Look At Viktoria Plzen’s Betting Odds

Plzen picked up seven points from a strong pool in this competition last term, notably beating Roma 2-1 on home turf, as well as securing a win and a draw against CSKA Moscow.

There were a couple of heavy defeats, but only losing 2-1 at Real Madrid was another admirable effort.

Pavel Vrba’s side went on to finish second in the Czech League, five points behind Slavia Prague, and have started well this term with two straight wins.

Losing star midfielder Patrik Hrosovsky to Genk was a blow, but Jan Kopic and Michael Krmencik are still players to watch out for going forward.

Looking at the Viktoria Plzen vs Olympiakos odds, we like 17/5 for a score draw.

A Look At Olympiakos’ Betting Odds

Olympiakos finished last season strongly, rattling off 10 straight wins in Greece’s top flight to close as runners-up.

They also made it through to the Europa League knockout rounds after splitting Real Betis and AC Milan in Group F.

Fending off strong interest from West Ham for Kostas Fortounis was a big boost, but the playmaker is now facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines following a knee injury.

Even so, there is plenty of talent in this squad, including full-backs Leonardo Koutris and Omar Elabdellaoui, plus holding midfielder Mady Camara.

Pedro Martins may be content to leave the Czech Republic on level terms, though, as his team is always strong on home turf, beating Milan 3-1 there last term.

Let’s finish off our Viktoria Plzen vs Olympiakos betting tips by taking 11/2 for a 1-1 stalemate.

Additional stats

Last result:

Slovan Liverec 1-2 VIKTORIA PLZEN – Pernica, Kopic

Larissa 0-3 OLYMPIAKOS – Mahgoub, Elabdellaoui, Camara

Head-to-head: N/A
